Students at Taylor Exemplar Academy recently enjoyed an energy-filled assembly courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings School Assembly Program.
The program travels throughout the state of Michigan, offering elementary and middle school students the opportunity to hear motivational speakers share about the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
“We had the Red Wings event team come and deliver a motivational message,” said Brittany Colbeck, Young 5s and special education dean at Taylor Exemplar Academy. “The message consisted of the importance of education and perseverance.”
The Detroit Red Wings School Assembly program provides an energizing program for students to help them understand the importance of healthy living and learn more about hockey through a partnership with the No. 1 franchise in the NHL.
“During the assembly, we kicked off a fundraiser where we can sell discounted tickets to go to a game,” said Colbeck. “We are very excited and have sold over 30 tickets already.”
The assembly also featured an exciting competition between students and staff, and information about skating classes at rinks near the school.
Way to go, Taylor Exemplar!
