Greensboro Academy was recently recognized by niche.com for being a standout school of choice in Guilford County and the Greensboro area. Greensboro Academy, managed by National Heritage Academies (NHA), is a free, public charter school serving students in kindergarten- through eighth-grade in the Greensboro area.
“It is heartwarming to see our collective efforts come together into a positive environment for our students and families,” said Doug Hower, executive principal at Greensboro Academy. “This recognition is a direct result of our staff members, and the strong partnership we share with our parent body. It affirms my belief that positive things happen for students when a school partners with the parent community we serve.”
Greensboro Academy received an A grade and various recognitions. Some of those included being ranked No. 1 for best public and charter, elementary and middle school in the Greensboro area and Guilford County.
According to Niche, rankings are based on a rigorous analysis of key statistics and reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district. For the upcoming school year, Hower is looking forward to striving towards strong academic outcomes for each student and to further enhance their Moral Focus program.
