Wake Forest Receives State Award, Named one of Raleigh’s Best Charter Schools

Accolades for Wake Forest Charter Academy continue to come in as the school celebrates its eighth school year.

WFCA was recently presented an Academic Growth Award by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The honor was given for achieving the goal of academic progress for the 2021-22 school year.

Late last year, the school was also named as one of Raleigh’s Best Charter Schools by The News & Observer newspaper which serves the greater Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina areas.

“It's an honor for community members to rate WFCA as one of Raleigh's best charter schools,” WFCA Principal Brandi Gill said. “There are about 24 charter schools in Wake County, and this is a great accomplishment for WFCA.”

The annual “best of” feature is meant to showcase local businesses and service providers who are voted on by readers. The education portion highlighted charter schools, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as colleges in the area.

Raleighs Best 2022 winner.
Wake Forest Charter Academy earned a silver medal, finishing in second place in the voting.

“We have a gem in Wake Forest that is very special, and I am honored to know our families, staff, and community continue to work together to make us the best of the best,” Gill said.

“We will continue to extend our positive presence in the local community.”

Congratulations WFCA!
