North Dayton School of Discovery held its first-ever College Readiness Program at the end of November. The event, which will now take place annually, allowed teachers and administration to share learning strategies and resources with parents to help their scholar prepare for college.
Prior to the event, students received formal invites to attend. Throughout the evening, the scholars and their families were served a special dinner and certificate.
“We are thrilled to present this opportunity for so many North Dayton scholars,” said Victoria Vyborny, principal in residence at North Dayton. “We had almost 50 families attend.”
The event included presentations featuring state data and other assessments to assist families with setting these scholars on a path to college-readiness. In addition, North Dayton’s family liaison and administrative staff members presented information on the impact of attendance and behavior on student learning.
Keep up the great work, North Dayton scholars and families!
