Located in the growing Second Creek Farm neighborhood, Capstone Academy will initially welcome students in grades K-6, adding one grade each year until reaching full K-8 status in 2027-28. This event was a celebration of years of planning and dedication, with work starting on the project back in late 2018.
Capstone Academy is authorized by 27J Schools, and this partnership highlights the school’s commitment to providing high-quality education to the Commerce City community. The event brought together the Capstone Academy Board members, including:
- Yvette Martinez, Board President
- Danny Sandoval, Vice President
- Arlene Castro, Treasurer
- Lewis Ortiz, Secretary
- Roland Saffy
- Scott Strole
- Stephanie Ohm
- Starr Trujillo, School Board
- Terry Lucero, Chief Operations Officer
- Kenlyn Newman, Partner School Liaison
The groundbreaking was a wonderful way to celebrate the building of the new school and the promise of new educational opportunities for students and families in the area.
