Open Enrollment for the 2025-26 School Year Has Started

We’re often asked “When is the best time to apply to an NHA school?” The answer: During Open Enrollment. Don’t miss the deadline! Open Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is now through February 28, 2025. Check out this blog to clear up any confusion around this important “golden window” of time.

Open Enrollment

All applications received during Open Enrollment are considered equal and eligible for being randomly drawn to fill available seats. If more applications are received than there are seats available, a random selection lottery will take place to determine which applicants are offered an available seat and determine the order of the waiting list. If fewer applications have been received than there are seats available, all students will be accepted. Open Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year begins on October 1, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on February 28, 2025.

Lottery

Lottery is a random selection process to fill available seats for all grade levels and is only held if the number of applications received during Open Enrollment is greater than the number of seats available in any grade level. Lottery information will be posted to the homepage of the school's website and the school's calendar.

Next Steps

Waiting List

If your child is on the waiting list, don’t be discouraged! Often, seats become available throughout the summer. We will continue to send you school information if your child is on the waiting list.

Acceptance

If a seat becomes available for your child at our school, we will reach out to you by mail, email, and text message. To make sure you don’t miss any important updates, please keep your contact information up to date at our school. If we cannot get a hold of you by either means, your child’s seat may be forfeited.

Capstone Academy Enrollment Requirements

If your child is accepted, we’ll reach out by mail, email, and text with a list of required documents and details about your Parent Portal account. To confirm your child’s enrollment, we’ll need parents/guardians to submit the required items listed below. These items can be securely completed or uploaded online through the Parent Portal and must be done by the date provided, otherwise your child may be removed from the accepted list.

Official Release of Records
Proof of Residency

Please complete the remaining forms by your child’s first day of school to ensure everything is ready for a smooth and safe start. We recommend filling them out as soon as possible.

Additonal forms needed:

Attendance Expectation Form
Birth Certificate (original certified copy)
- A certified copy can be obtained at the County Clerk’s Office in the county in which your child was born (photocopy, hospital, or footprint copy is not acceptable).
