See the Four Pillars That Will Help Sky Ranch Students Thrive

What sets National Heritage Academies (NHA) apart from others is a clearly defined set of components that teachers adhere to and students and parents have come to love.

To help students at Sky Ranch Academy reach their full potential, NHA has set up four pillars – Parental Partnership, Student Responsibility, Moral Focus, and Academic Excellence.

There are a variety of ways for parents to be involved in their children’s school life. Meet the teacher events draw on the parallel between a marital relationship and the connection needed between teacher and parent. Volunteers are always welcome to give students positive role models. And NHA’s Parent Relations team also provides support and answers any questions parents might have, serving as a bridge between parents and school leaders.

The student mentor program teaches scholars to be attentive and tests their listening skills while helping younger students, assisting teachers with small group activities, grading papers, lesson prep, class organization, and more.

The nine Moral Focus virtues are folded into activities and lessons each month and teach students to do the right things and treat others with respect in and out of the classroom.

NHA schools also are regularly lauded for their Academic Excellence. It begins with teachers who are dedicated to their students’ well-being, and results in success locally and nationally, all the way to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

“I love the pillars of NHA and what they stand for,” said Connie Eastmann, dean of lower elementary at Peak Charter Academy in Apex, N.C. “That’s why I’m here. It’s one of the reasons I chose to work for NHA.”
