Doing the Right Thing Starts with Moral Focus Virtues at Sky Ranch Academy

Moral Focus virtues are the bedrock of everything your child will learn at Sky Ranch Academy, from curriculum to how they conduct themselves.

At every National Heritage Academies school, one of the nine Moral Focus virtues is emphasized each month for at least three days per week through stories, discussions, and activities. The virtues are:
  • Wisdom: To make good choices (August/September).
  • Respect: To treat others the way they want to be treated (October).
  • Gratitude: To be thankful for all the good things happening in their lives (November).
  • Self-control: To control their emotions, actions, and reactions to others (December).
  • Perseverance: To work hard to reach their goals (January).
  • Courage: To trust they have the strength to do difficult things (February).
  • Encouragement: To be there for others when they need motivation (March).
  • Compassion: To care for and support others when they need help (April).
  • Integrity: To do what is right, even if it is hard (May).
These virtues are reinforced during everyday activities, incorporated into plays, and go beyond the classroom into the community. Even during challenging times, NHA students exemplified Moral Focus virtues such as gratitude and perseverance by buying school supplies for other children and maintaining a proper perspective during the pandemic.
