On Sept. 8, Peak Charter Academy (PCA) students and staff celebrated the opening of the 84th NHA school with a dedication ceremony in the school gym.
Special guests included: NHA founder, J.C. Huizenga; NHA CEO and President, Brian Britton; the Peak Charter Academy Board, members of the Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the North Carolina State Board of Education, Bill Cobey, who approved the charter; and Dave Machado.
“Dave Machado recommended the approval of Peak’s charter to the State Board, and we are thankful for his confidence in our school to better educate more children in this community,” said Steve Pond, principal of Peak Charter Academy.
At its official opening in August, the school welcomed 596 students.
“I am deeply humbled to be the founding principal that welcomes students to Peak Charter Academy,” said Steve Pond, principal of Peak. “I am proud of the many Board members, teachers, and staff who have worked hard to bring this vision to life. We look forward to providing each student who enters this building a high quality education, college readiness and support throughout their education.”
