Students will travel by charter bus and over the course of four days will see the White House, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Howard University, Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon, the Flight 93 memorial, Constitution Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, and the Gettysburg battle fields. They finish their trip with a stop at Hershey Park.
The fourth grade steel pan group plays for the crowd.
“The public was all smiles being able to support a good cause and to be served by young scholars,” North Saginaw Music Teacher Katie Mueller said. “They enjoyed their deliciously prepared spaghetti, salad, and bread, and listened to relaxing jazz music from the middle school jazz band, and steel pan music from 4th graders. The atmosphere was one of family and friends making memories and enjoying quality time together.”
Artwork created by middle school students was also on display for families to enjoy. Engaging activities and trips are just two of the many reasons North Saginaw has outperformed the local district for the last two years.
“The students were so excited about this event, the musicians prepared the music and practiced before school,” Mueller said. “The eighth-grade class prepared for the event beforehand and got the meals ready after school to serve one at a time.”
Great work raising funds for a history-filled trip, North Saginaw!
