Meet Principal Nathan Tomlinson

Principal Nathan Tomlinson loves to talk about progress within yourself, within your community, and throughout your life. "I have so many past students tell me they are now attending college, graduate college, or attending a trade school:' He admits there's a feeling of pride when it comes to seeing past students excel and set new goals for themselves.
 
When Principal Tomlinson was in high school, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in education. He set his sights on becoming a math teacher, then a middle school dean, and now a principal. "It's all about progress and planning a path forward:'
 
As principal there are a myriad of responsibilities and challenges that he must address daily. And the challenge he gladly accepts is instilling a sense of learning, curiosity, and positivity within every student. In fact, he is quick to point out, “My favorite part of serving as principal is that I have the opportunity to ensure all our students can reach their full potential each and every day:' He continues, "I wish that every child at Legacy becomes inspired to be the best version of themselves, and when they grow up, they are proud of who they are and where they came from:'

His take on this vision sounds perfectly aligned with the values and expectations for all students at Legacy Charter Academy. And he knows it is his responsibility to create the right environment to make it happen.

• He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State University, and his Leadership Certificate from Grand Valley State University.
• He loves spending time with his family and enjoys playing basketball (this would explain his impressive collection of Jordan brand shoes.)
