Meet Landmark Academy at Reunion Principal Jenna Reeves

For Jenna Reeves, education has been a calling since childhood. “I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in third grade,” Reeves shares. “My teacher inspired me and let me teach a lesson to the class. Ever since that day, I knew education was my passion.”

She pursued this passion, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Regis University.

As principal, Reeves enjoys helping students, teachers, and staff grow. “My favorite days are when I get to be in classrooms seeing kids learning and bringing our school community together with fun events,” she says.

A couple of career achievements she’s especially proud of include leading Landmark Academy at Reunion to full enrollment and reducing the attrition rate, which means families are choosing to stay at Landmark.

Her leadership style centers around building positive relationships. “I’m big on creating a welcoming culture where staff, students, and families feel connected. In the morning, I’m at the front doors, greeting students with a smile.”

Reeves emphasizes the importance of parents as partners in their child’s education. She believes students perform best when the entire school community works together. “Parental involvement is crucial to a child’s success. We try to offer lots of opportunities for parents to be involved,” she adds. “We’re all on the same team, working together with one goal: to help each child succeed.”

Encouragement is at the heart of Reeves’ approach. “It’s my favorite Moral Focus virtue because I can see the impact it has when you encourage others to be their best. It’s so easy to offer a smile or kind words. The world needs more of that.”

When asked about her favorite inspirational quote, Reeves shares one that guides her every day: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”

Outside of school, Reeves enjoys traveling. “I’m always planning our next trip. Exploring new places and making memories with my family is what brings me joy. It’s also important for my kids to see different perspectives from around the world.”

Yoga, reading, and spending time with her family help keep her grounded and energized.

Quick Facts:
  • Reeves loves fall, especially with football and all of those fun school events.
  • She has a soft spot for any food smothered in green chili. She also loves Rocky Road ice cream.
  • Christmas is her favorite holiday.
  • And one thing you might never guess… she loves tarantulas!
