Meet Principal Mallory Brown

Q&A with Principal Brown

Why did you choose education as a profession?
From a young age I was drawn to education. I enjoyed helping my teachers and peers in elementary school and had the opportunity to work with my third grade teacher as her teacher’s aide during my senior year of high school. As a principal, I have the ability to impact all of our students and foster a nurturing learning environment in which students are safe to take risks and gain ownership of their learning.

What is your favorite part of serving as a principal?
Serving our learning community as principal allows me to support all families. I appreciate the opportunity to build relationships with students and parents and be an integral part of our students’ success.

What is the one thing you wish for every child?
My wish for every child is that Grand River fosters a lifelong love of learning. From building positive relationships with staff to realizing academic success, I believe all of our students can be successful and leave us prepared for high school and life.

When you look at your career thus far, what makes you the proudest?
I am most proud of the fact that I began my career here at Grand River as a first grade teacher and through hard work and dedication, I’ve realized my dream of leading our building as the principal.
