Flagship Charter Academy welcomed incoming kindergarten students and families in for a roundup. Kindergarten Round Up is designed to build a relationship between the children, parents, teachers, and staff.
“The gathering gave parents an opportunity to see what Flagship is all about with academics, moral focus, and what their vision and purpose is all about,” said Afaf Saleh, admissions representative at Flagship Charter Academy.
Students and parents were able to visit Flagship and tour the building, create a craft with kindergarten teachers, and enjoy some lunch. The theme was superheroes, and all students received capes and masks and became superheroes for the day.
Before students left, all students received drawstring bags filled with NHA materials, supplies, and educational materials. The educational materials consisted of a sight word list, a packet that was created by the kindergarten team for students to work on during the summer, and a list of skills that students will need to come into kindergarten with.
“The educational materials will help with summer loss and to help students to come better prepared for kindergarten in the fall,” said Saleh.
