Capstone Academy Construction Progress

Capstone Academy, located in Commerce City, will open in the Fall of 2025 offering grades K-6, adding one grade per year through grade eight. In the months leading up to opening, we will be hard at work constructing a building to house our amazing scholars, teachers, and staff. Regular construction updates will be posted below. March 24, 2025 Update

Capstone Academy's contruction is progressing on schedule! The outside finish, called EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), is about 99% done. Low voltage wiring is being installed, painting is ongoing, and we've started polishing the floors.

The interior insulation and drywall have been hung and are all set.

The roofing is completely finished!

February 20, 2025 Update

The roofing is completely finished, and the building is fully dried in, so it's protected from the weather. We've got temporary heat running to keep things moving inside. The ceiling insulation and drywall are all set, and we're working on insulating the exterior walls. The outside finish, called EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), is about 85% done. Gas and electric are installed, and we're getting ready to start polishing the floors. We're right on schedule and making great progress!

January 13, 2025 Update

Capstone's building remains on schedule as construction progresses. Roofing work is progressing well and is now nearly 50% complete. Exterior windows are being installed, and we anticipate the building will be fully dried in within the next two weeks. Additionally, domestic water and sewer utilities have been installed, with meters scheduled to be set within the same timeframe.

November 13, 2024 Update

The concrete slab is near completion allowing the building crew to begin going vertical with wood framed construction. Onsite underground utilities are beginning to be installed and concrete curbing for the parking lot will begin soon. We are on schedule!

August 15, 2024 Update

We broke ground on our building on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Capstone will be built by Roche Construction. Stay tuned to this page for regular monthly updates on our construction progress!

Capstone will be located at E 88 Avenue & Telluride St in Commerce City, Colorado.

In addition to many board members, Directors of School Quality Matt Carlton and Elly Campbell to part in the ceremony.
