March is full of exciting events—St. Patrick’s Day, Women’s History Month, Science Week, and even Dental Health Month! But did you know that March is also National Reading Month? That means it’s the perfect time to grab a good book and go on an adventure through reading.

To celebrate, National Heritage Academies (NHA®) Education Technology Specialist Alexandra Brown put together a list of books for young readers. Whether you love silly stories, exciting adventures, or real-life heroes, there’s something for everyone. Check out these great books and have fun reading this March.


Books for Grades K-2

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover! – Lucille Colandro. A silly, rhyming story featuring a festive St. Patrick’s Day theme.

Jamie O’Rourke and the Big Potato – Tomie dePaola. A fun Irish folktale about a lazy farmer and a magical potato

Rosie Revere, Engineer – Andrea Beaty. Encourages creativity and perseverance.
