Winter break is a time to relax, but just because kids are home doesn’t mean learning should stop. It’s easy to spend the days staring at a screen, but with a little creativity, winter break can be full of fun activities that keep kids busy and engaged. Whether you’re searching for educational activities or just trying to keep the kids from being bored, we have ideas to help you and your family make the most of the time off.
Get Outside and Play
If it’s snowy where you live, grab a sled and head to a big hill or work together to build a snowman or snow fort. If snow isn’t in the forecast, go for a walk or hike together outside. It’s a great way to burn energy and stay active. Look for interesting items like pinecones or leaves you can later use in a creative project.
Make Art Together
Grab some crayons, markers, and paper, and get creative. You could draw a picture for each family member or make cards to send to someone special. Getting creative can be both inspiring and calming for kids.
Read Together
