Focus on May: Raising Money for Heart Health, Former Zookeeper Teacher, a Natural Hair Care Event, and Students Learn Healthy Habits

NHA Communications Team  |  June 06, 2024
A large group of NHA schools participate every year in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge, that combines healthy tips and information with physical activity and fundraising to raise awareness about heart health.

This year, 25 NHA schools participated in the month-long event, and students raised $93,322.37, with the top two schools being South Canton Scholars with $15,507.47, and Queen’s Grant Community School with $13,612.03.

Students at both schools showed their excitement by participating in rope jumping competitions, and Queen’s Grant encouraged families to get involved in learning CPR.

The commitment to healthy education and making a difference in their communities is apparent at both schools.
