Alternative Certification
If you have a bachelor’s degree and a passion for helping people, you don’t have to go back to school to become a teacher. All you need to do is enroll in an alternative certification program and pass the state alternative certification test. We’ll be there to support your journey to become a licensed teacher every step of the way!
You:
- Hold a bachelor's degree and desire to learn, grow, and teach in a classroom.
- Are committed to participating in an alternative teacher certification track, including tutoring, testing, and enrollment in coursework.
- Do not need a background in education!
How It Works:
Upon hiring, you start teaching right away and you must complete the following tasks:- Pass your required state board exam(s) by your provided deadline.
- Enroll in an alternative certification program and complete your coursework while teaching.
- Apply for teacher certification with your state department of education.
We Provide:
- Tutoring for your required test(s).
- Vouchers covering the cost of your first attempt at any required state test (average fee: $150).
- Up to $1,000 per year tuition reimbursement for certification program courses.
- Cost-sharing and payroll deduction options for eligible candidates (MI and NC only) with our preferred partner programs.
- A Credentialing Consultant, an expert on state certification requirements, guiding you throughout the process.
